Service Provider Appreciation Dinner 2002

  • Dawn Sung: “She’s one of our sweetest caseworkers! We can always depend on her to take new cases and to train new volunteers.”
  • Maya Baraona: “Maya is really passionate about the issues that relate to the homeless.  During our class debate on universal health care, she really made an important contribution to the dialogue.”
  • Erica Pines: “Out of hundreds of students, she’s the only one who has come back to casework for the past three years.  Her kind of commitment is what Clinic is about.”
  • Steven Ho: “I first met Steven in class, and I’m really glad that I did.  He’s been a true friend, someone I could count on to be there even when things got hectic.”
  • Jennifer Youn: “Jen’s compassionate, caring, and conscientious – she has a heart for people.”
  • Jasmine Pedroso: “Jasmine’s selflessness and humor understate her compassionate dedication to Youth Clinic participants. She is a fulcrum balancing outreach, service provision, and friendship.”
  • Meera Chary: “Meera is one of the most caring people I’ve ever met. She has a big heart and cares about the issues people face.  She shows her compassion, no matter the circumstance”
  • Shahed Ghoghawala: “I love your open-mindedness and the way you give yourself to other people.  You’ve already come so far.  I can’t wait to see where you go in life.”
  • Russell Voth: “There’s nothing he can’t handle with a smile and his articulate manner.  I will definitely miss you and no matter what you may think, you are adept at the art of the spoken word, so speak on.“
  • Noma Olomu: “Noma, in spite of all long hours and challenges, I’ve had a great time working with you this past year.  You’re a politician in the making whether you admit it or not.”
  • Bharti Mistry: “Bharti has been so instrumental to Women’s Clinic.  She shows her love to both the clients and volunteers.  We’ll all miss her.”
  • Brandon Macias: “Brandon was a pillar of the class – he was always the responsible one.  If I could name a person who can be committed, compassionate, meticulous, and fun to hang out with, it’s Brandon.”
  • Simone Bennett: “At the end of the night, who do I call? Not Spiderman, but my Slurpee buddy! We’ve had a lot of adventures, and although our paths seem to be diverging, when they cross again, I’ll know who to call.”
  • Stacy Tsai: “You were hard as nails when it came to advocating for women. Toward the women themselves, you were never harsh, but always kind and patient, a ready-to-smile listener.”
  • Kathleen Chin: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Kathleen without a huge smile on her face.  I’ll never forget Kathleen’s friendliness and invitations to join her on Slurpee runs.  You’ll truly be missed!”
  • Linna Li: “Linna is one of the kindest, friendliest unsung heroes I have ever had the opportunity to meet.  Linna has always been there when the Clinic has been in need and does so without nearly the level of commendation that she deserves.”
  • Shil Patel: “Shil is one of the first people I met when I started volunteering.  He brought a lot to Clinic.  He did a great job of developing the Health Ed program and working with clients.  Clinic runs better with Shil around.”
  • Maneesh Gogia: “Maneesh is a great role model and friend. From Class Coordinator to COCA, she is always available to listen and provide support and valuable advice to anyone in need.”
  • Deepa Subramaniam: “I’ll never forget all our late-night meetings to get the job done. I am amazed by your persistence and how much you’ve accomplished.”
  • Jessica Woan: “Jessica is an outstanding leader.  She has given us the motivation and freedom necessary to improve and expand the Clinic.  Her dedication has inspired us all.”
  • Shawn Mattison: “Shawn’s brilliance, talent, and generosity are unsurpassed, and his dedication to Clinic and its clients is unparalleled. Shawn was the first person I got to know and remains one of my best friends almost four years later.”
  • Joanna Mandell: “Without prompting Joanna takes initiative and expands Clinic into new dynamic areas. As her friend and coworker, I owe her a lot and I know Clinic does too. It’s our luck that she’ll be a part of our Medical staff.”
