WHAT? the BERKELEY PROJECT! (check it out at “bp.berkeley.edu”)! Come join the SPEAC/SHARE small group from HMS 98/198 on November 11 for what will be the best day of your life. We’re going to be cleaning showers, painting a mural, a bench, and other fun stuff. In the afternoon we’ll pass out sack lunches to people on Telegraph and Shattuck and conduct a needs assessment to see what services people are receiving, and what they aren’t.

If you were unable to take our caseworking certification exam on Thursday, October 5th, know that we will be offering a makeup written and oral version of the midterm. It will be held this coming Thursday, October 12th, at both 4:00 PM and at 7:00 PM in a room to be decided upon in Wheeler Auditorium. You will take both a revised version of the written exam and a participate in a new scenario for the oral/performance component of exam.

Thursday is the midterm. The midterm will be two parts: the first half will be a written portion,
the second half will be a role playing exercise. The reader provides an excellent outline of the midterm and some specific things to study. Also, please know and be comfortable with the four steps of working with a suicidal client. You will be tested on the steps in the reader, so make sure to go over those.
