April Updates

We are currently ordering sweatshirts and t-shirts for anyone who is interested. Both bear the same design (black with the Suitcase Clinic logo on the front and the quote “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” by Mahatma Gandhi on the back). Sweatshirts cost $25 and t-shirts cost $10, with checks made payable to the Suitcase Clinic. Be aware that their sizes run big, so consider ordering a youth large. If you have any questions, contact the Administrative Coordinator Courtney Hernandez (court).

This year’s Service Provider Appreciation Dinner will be held on May 6th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Morrison Reading Room of Doe Library. As we will be honoring our graduating seniors, we are currently collecting quotes from all present and past Planning Committee members about each of them. If any of you have quotes or memories you would like to contribute, please e-mail them to the Administrative Coordinator Courtney Hernandez (court). Affordable Housing Week Calendar of Events

Affordable Housing Week will begin on Friday, May 11, and will continue through Sunday, May 20. There will be two events in Berkeley: one with the Northern California Land Trust, and one about universal design at University Neighborhood Apartments. There will also be an Everyone Home event in Castro Valley and Fremont. View the complete calendar for more information.

This Wednesday, April 23rd, the Class Coordinators and UGSIs will be hosting an Open Class Meeting in 578 University Hall beginning at 5:00 PM. We will discuss the class and its future at length. Chancellor’s Awards for Public Service 2006/07

The Suitcase Clinic has been selected as an honoree for both the University of California at Berkeley’s Community Impact Award and Student Group Public Service Award. We will be honored at a recognition reception hosted by Chancellor Robert and Mary Catherine Birgeneau at University House on May 14, 2007 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

People’s Park Earth Day Celebration
