Hair by Edward Hsu

What is hair?
Alone it is an awkward follicle
In cracks it works as a lubricant
And when it grows and grows it is a hairy bush.

Hair can move with a gentle breeze
Hair can be shaped like the Himalayas of the earth
Hair can look like the waves of a lady ocean
Hair is alive!

Sometimes it is soft and curly.
Sometimes it is coarse and crunchy.
Other times it is greasy and wet.
Bust worst of all, sometimes hair can be
filled with a few little friends.

Oh hair, however disgusting and
annoying you can be.
No matter where you go, into
my mouth, my food, or on my
carpet,
I promise to caress thee with my
special clippers and comb.
Oh Hair I love ya!
