I wanted to provide a written historical overview of the youth clinic planning process for those involved in the process and for the Executive Committee. I hope this outline helps people understand what is going on (as I currently see it) and possible next steps:
I) Late Summer 1998: Sally Hindman, former Executive Director of the Chaplaincy to the Homeless, approached John Swartzberg of the Joint Medical Program (JMP) about having a Suitcase Clinic dedicated to serving homeless youth in the Shattuck and Telegraph area. John Swartzberg said he supported the idea, implying that the Suitcase Clinic would be a part of setting up such a clinic.
