There are currently over 50 Berkeley students (undergraduates, medicine, public health, law, business, alternative medicine) signed up to go on a bus to Sacramento on January 16th to learn about Universal Health Care and to tell our state representatives that we demand it. All Berkeley students are welcome to join them on this march to the capital and to learn how to argue in favor of a bill that is feasible, economically sound and life-saving for the over six-million Californians who have no health insurance. Dr. Amin Azzam, resident psychiatrist at SF General Hospital and UCSF professor, will be coming to the Planning Committee on December 6th to lead a training on mental health. The topic on mental health referrals will be reserved for Dr. Gilbert Newman, director of the Wright Institute, for next semester, as he is much more familiar with the East Bay’s mental health services.
