A benefit dinner in support of the Suitcase Clinic
Homelessness is a historically enduring social problem that has afflicted countless people. Although it is a difficult issue to address and understand, one thing is clear: it is a salient problem in our own community of Berkeley. The Suitcase Clinic, a non-profit, student-run organization that provides health, legal, and social services to the homeless and low income people of Berkeley, strives to address this multifaceted issue on all of its fronts. Our holistic approach to combating homelessness involves not only the provisioning of services to address our clients’ immediate needs; but also, more fundamentally, the empowering of our clients, giving them a voice in the community and advocating on their behalf. It is our firm belief that the Suitcase Clinic cannot achieve these objectives without the support of the greater Berkeley community.
On Saturday April 24th, the Suitcase Clinic will be hosting “Down and Out in Berkeley”, a dinner to unite our community in the spirit of empowering our underserved members. Located at the historic Hotel Shattuck Plaza in the heart of downtown Berkeley, the dinner will contextualize homelessness as a historical concern while emphasizing how the Suitcase Clinic plays a role in addressing this issue in the our community. In addition, the dinner will feature a keynote speaker and silent auction. Only through collective action can we improve the welfare of our community; we hope that you may come and add your voice to our chorus!

a. Amount: Donations of $85.00 will guarantee one dinner reservation.
b. VERY IMPORTANT: Please RSVP by April 22nd the number of guests attending & specify Chicken or Vegetarian in the “Special Instructions or designations for this gift” box at the bottom of the Giving Form.
