Massage Therapists
Description: The Suitcase Clinic in Berkeley is looking for a massage therapist who can volunteer their services once per week. Our organization is a student-run community space for homeless and underserved populations in Berkeley. We have provided healthcare and social services for between 40 to 60 clients every Monday Tuesday night at the First Presbyterian Church and St. Mark's Episcopal Churchfor over 20 years. It is incredible what a 20 minute massage has done to improve the disposition of our clients, who often live with a variety of mental and physical stresses.
Youth/LGBTQ+ (YQT+) Clinic operates from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Mondays and General Clinic operates from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM on Tuesdays year-round, with short closures in the summer and winter. We hope to find massage therapists to volunteer and train our students weekly throughout this timeframe. Our massage therapists usually see 4-6 clients per evening for 20 minute long sessions, with two therapists sharing one room. However, we can certainly work together to create your own unique role within the organization.
